A fundraiser to help keep families living with MS together!
For those of you who joined us last year for this event, this year promises to be even better with more to offer everyone!!
In August of 2008,we held our first 3rd party event where we raised enough money to create a new program within our local National MS Society Long Island Chapter, that is now called "The Catherine Caldarella Memorial Fund for Home Health Aide Assistance Program", monies donated to this program will help families here on Long Island receive assistance in receiving a home health aide when the need arises, hopefully delaying or preventing long term nursing facility admissions which break our families apart and inevitably our desire to fight lessens as well as our disease quickly worsens...
This program, The Catherine Caldarella Memorial Fund for Home Health Aide Assistance Program, will help to provide home health aide services to those of us who live on Long Island, who during an exacerbation, or a progression in our disease need that extra bit of help in the home.
Those with MS sometimes can’t get into the shower, cook a meal, make our bed, get out of bed to get to the bathroom, or simply get dressed...these "simple" tasks that many take for granted, those with MS are grateful each day that they can do it...but when and IF that day comes that they can't, they might need help!
Sometimes their family can assist, but most of the time, their family needs to work, or they might just be children themselves and the burden is too much...that's where home health aides come in and help keep them and their families together...
Through this event you will learn how to live well within yourself, as well as know that you made a difference in someone else's life...

4 Hour Fundraising Event
100 % of proceeds will go to the Long Island Chapter’s NMSS Catherine Caldarella Memorial Fund Home Health Aide Assistance Program.
Your pre-paid or at the door donation of $40.00
will include: 1 hour of group yoga, 1/2 hour group guided meditation with live music
and 2 hours reserved for a choice of a private, Reiki Healing ,Massage Therapy sessions or acupuncture.
All private services will be scheduled, so please select which you would like to receive when you make your reservation and RSVP for the event and you will be placed into a time slot for after the yoga and meditation part of our event.
Raffles will be in addition to donation -
**this year raffles will be held in the form of a Chinese or otherwise known as a Penny Auction, YOU will CHOOSE which prize it is you'd like to win, and place your raffle tickets where you are hoping to be the winner!!
Prizes are being donated to the event from various artists, yoga teachers, reiki masters, holistic healers plus meditation supplies as well as various local merchants which will be announced and updated as our event gets closer....
All prizes are valued at between (to be announced but no less than $25.00 in value)
Our event will end with healthy homemade snacks, chai lattes & herbal tea.
